Broncos Believe Russell Wilson Is Fixable
Denver Broncos owner and CEO Greg Penner said on Tuesday that he has faith that general manager George Paton and quarterback Russell Wilson can turn things around after a miserable 2022 season. Wilson's lucrative long-term deal makes moving on from him next year prohibitive -- cutting him after June 1 would carry a $39 million dead salary cap hit. "I don't think we made a coaching move based on Russ. That wasn't what it's all about. That's not why we're getting a new coach, to turn around Russ,... [Read More]
Russell Wilson Throws For 286 Yards, One Touchdown
Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson went 21-for-42 for 286 yards in the 17-10 Week 10 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The 286 yards were his second-highest total of the season, but he threw only one touchdown, was intercepted once and was sacked six times for 38 yards. Wilson ran the ball seven times for just eight yards. It didn't help that he lost one of his favorite targets, receiver Jerry Jeudy (ankle), to an injury early in the first half. The 33-year-old continued to mostly... [Read More]
Russell Wilson Looks Better In London
After missing Week 7 due to a hamstring injury, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson returned in the Week 8 London game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and was more efficient in a 21-17 win on Sunday. Wilson went 18-for-30 for 252 yards, one touchdown and an interception while taking three sacks. He also ran the ball four times for 17 yards. The 33-year-old looked much better in the second half while playing from behind and distributed the football well amongst all his receivers. Wilson's... [Read More]
Russell Wilson Could Return In Week 8
Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson (hamstring) could return in Week 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars after head coach Nathaniel Hackett said he's still day-to-day, but trending in the right direction. Despite Wilson's sluggish start, he'll be an interesting fantasy option if he can return against the Jaguars in London. The Jaguars have been a top-10 defense against fantasy quarterbacks and were just shredded by Daniel Jones. There are still plenty of options to play over Wilson, but ... [Read More]
Russell Wilson Struggles Against Colts
Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and the offense looked pretty bad once again in the 12-9 overtime loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night. Wilson went 21-for-39 for 274 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions while also running the ball four times for 22 yards. His two interceptions were costly turnovers for the Broncos, and he failed to lead the offense to a single touchdown in what has been a very disappointing season so far through five weeks of play. The 33-year-old ... [Read More]
